Well, what had started as a perfectly normal booty call with a tall, hot, Imperial had rapidly, rapidly cascaded into a chaotic long overdue handwaved canon-catch-up series of events, that had involved amongst other things, faking her death numerous times, a stint in prison, bad choices with explosives, her tall, hot Imperial becoming a tall, hot rebel, accidentally becoming a dashing folk hero, an attempt at one-on-one mentorship of the youth, avenging her Mom's death, and earning the ire of Darth Vader all over again because he was disturbingly easy to trick.

Oh, yeah, and cutting herself out of the lives of all the people she cared about because she was a terrible person who ruined everything she touched.

Aphra glanced at the wall chrono as she staggered into the house and collapsed on her own couch, as you did.

All that, and she hadn't even missed a single class. Well, at least she had the whole weekend to do nothing but drink and plan class.

How did Anakin know where she lived? He was a creepy stalker, that's how. Or the bored teenager with him had pointed in the correct direction.

Aphra, very maturely, pulled a throw pillow over her head. "Nobody's home!"

"I can sense your presence," Anakin bellowed back.

Aphra groaned and stomped over to the door. "It's the weekend, boss" she whined, completely ignoring the teenager unfortunate enough to have detention or whatever.

"This is your kid," Anakin said.

Yep. Just yours. Nothing to do with him! Really!

Nebitu flung herself at Mom for a hug. "It was too noisy at Dad's," she said looking directly at Anakin as she did so.

Too noisy and too many half-siblings.

"Well, Christopher is very excitable," Anakin muttered.

"Ha ha, very funny," Aphra said dryly, glaring at Anakin, then looked down at the girl "However much he's paid you, I'll double it if you go home now."

Nebitu considered her options, then held out her hand. "Deal."

She pocketed the stack of creds Mom handed her then wrapped her arms around her again. "Wherever you and Dad are is home!"

Anakin had to laugh. "I think you just go played."

He, of course, would not fall for such a thing probably.

From the look he was getting from Nebitu, she'd practiced plenty on him.

"Anyway, I'm hungry." Hint, hint.

Aphra jerked her thumb in the direction of J,GoB. "You've also got all our money."

Best parent.

"Not all of it," Anakin said, alarmed.

"You telling me you didn't know how to pick pockets at that age?" Aphra said, absently ruffling the kid's hair.

"Of course not," Anakin blustered like a liar.

"Dad, you're a terrible liar." Aphra looked smug. "Almost as bad as Mom."

"As long as I'm better than Aphra," Anakin decided.
